Betway, Unibet and William Hill price Counter-Strike 2, and every bookmaker on this site holds a Gambling Commission licence. Betway names the widest set of CS2 bet types. Our team tests and checks each fact here before the page goes live. Before a bet, compare the competitions a bookmaker lists, the bet types it offers, how it settles a postponed or abandoned match and the minimum odds on its welcome offer. Midnite is rated too and sets Counter-Strike betting rules, covered below.
Counter-Strike 2 is a team shooter made by Valve. Valve calls it the largest technical leap forward in the history of Counter-Strike, and it runs on the Source 2 engine.
The competitive mode is Premier, Valve's Active Duty Pick-Ban competitive mode. Players earn a CS Rating there, and the rating decides where they stand on global and regional leaderboards.
Two changes affect how matches look. With sub-tick updates, servers know the exact instant a movement starts, a shot is fired or a grenade is thrown, so moving and shooting feel equally responsive whatever the tick rate. Smoke grenades are now dynamic volumetric objects: bullets and HE grenades can push smoke aside to clear sightlines for a moment, and smoke seeps through doorways and down stairs.
Maps fall into three groups. Overhauled maps are rebuilt from the ground up, and Valve's example is Overpass. Upgraded maps use the new Source 2 lighting, and Valve's example is Nuke. Touchstone maps stay close to the earlier design, and Valve's example is Dust II.
Counter-Strike, Counter-Strike 2 and their logos are trademarks of Valve Corporation. We name the game only to describe it.
A match is played by two teams of five. One side plants a bomb at a bomb site before the round timer runs out. The other side wins the round by eliminating the planters or defusing the bomb.
Each round won counts as a point. The first team to 16 points takes the map, and the sides switch after 15 rounds. A series is mostly best-of-three or best-of-one, so the match winner is decided over maps, not rounds.
Bookmaker markets follow that structure. A match winner bet rides on the whole series, a map winner bet on one map, and round bets on single rounds or round totals.
Valve controls qualification for a Major. It ranks teams with the Valve Regional Standings (VRS), a system used to determine the best teams in each region and globally. A Major has 32 teams in four stages. Sixteen are invited from the VRS straight to the second and third stages. The other sixteen enter at the first stage, and since StarLadder Budapest 2025 those first-stage places are also allocated through the VRS.
Three stages use the Swiss system: a team that wins three matches moves on, and a team that loses three is eliminated. The playoffs take eight teams in single-elimination best-of-three series, and the StarLadder Budapest Major 2025 introduced a best-of-five grand final. At the IEM Cologne Major 2026, the third Swiss stage used only best-of-three matches.
Outside the Majors, tournament organisers run their own events and circuits. PGL runs CS2 and Dota 2 tournaments across the year, and fills the places at an event such as PGL Bucharest 2027 with invitations plus European Open and Closed Qualifiers. ESL sanctions the Intel Extreme Masters. Online series from other organisers fill the lobbies between the big events.
The Majors are Valve-sponsored events and the biggest on the Counter-Strike calendar. PGL hosts the 2026 Major, the PGL CS2 Major Singapore, in Singapore from 24 November to 13 December 2026. Betway names the CS2 Majors among the biggest events it prices, and William Hill names the Major Championships in its esports coverage.
PGL Esports runs tournaments and circuits. Its calendar has PGL Masters Bucharest 2026 in Bucharest, Romania from 22 to 31 October, then the Major in Singapore. PGL Bucharest 2027 opens the 2027 Counter-Strike 2 season from 15 to 24 January 2027, with $1,400,000 in total rewards. Betway lists PGL Masters Bucharest and a PGL Bucharest Qualifier, Unibet lists PGL Bucharest Qualifiers, and William Hill lists PGL Bucharest.
The Intel Extreme Masters (IEM) is a series of international esports tournaments sanctioned by ESL and sponsored by Intel. Savvy Games Group owns the league, and Counter-Strike 2 is its current game. The highest tier, the Masters Championships, is held in summer in Cologne, Germany and in the new year in Poland, and offers the most prize money. Other Masters events have been held in cities such as Dallas, Shanghai and Sydney. By Betway's description, its CS2 coverage runs deepest around the Majors, IEM and PGL events.
Between the big events, the lobbies carry online series. DraculaN, NODWIN Clutch Series and CCT South America are carried by all three bookmakers. Other series appear at one or two, including United21, Private Club and the ranked series. William Hill lists the Thunderpick World Championship, while Betway and Unibet list a TP World Championship.
Lobby listings below were read on 18 and 20 October 2026.
| Bookmaker | Competitions | Bet types |
|---|---|---|
| CCT South America, DraculaN, NODWIN Clutch Series, PGL Bucharest Qualifier, PGL Masters Bucharest, Private Club, Ranked Episode 5, Ranked Episode 6 Qualifier, TP World Championship | Match winner, map winner, map handicap, correct map score, total rounds over/under, pistol round, tournament winner | |
| ST Ranked, DraculaN, Private Club, PGL Bucharest Qualifiers, United21, NODWIN Clutch Series, TP World Championship, CCT European Series, CCT South American Series | Match winner, map handicap, outrights | |

Unibet also offers map betting, over/under rounds and correct score on Counter-Strike. William Hill's general esports markets include correct score, the winners of the first, second or third rounds and first blood.
Match winner: you back a team to win the whole series. Map winner: you back a team to win one map inside it. Correct score: you pick the exact map scoreline, such as 2-0 or 2-1 in a best-of-three.
Midnite refunds bets on a map that is never played because the series is already decided, for example a third map after a 2-0 result. If Midnite announces a different number of maps, bets that depend on the series format, such as match handicap and correct score, have no action, while match winner bets stand.
Map handicap: you back a team to win by more than one map, or give an underdog a head start. A +2.5 map handicap is a 2.5-map head start, and the bet loses only if the other side wins by three maps or more.
A round handicap works on the round score instead. Midnite counts overtime in map rounds handicap unless stated otherwise.
A total rounds bet is over or under a line for how long a map lasts. On a line of 22.5 rounds, the over wins if a 23rd round is played.
Pistol round: a bet on the first round of either half. Midnite also offers race-to markets: race to 3, 6, 9 or 12 rounds, and settlement can take up to 2 hours.
Kill bets cover a team's first knife kill, its next kill, or a kill with a high explosive grenade or Molotov/incendiary grenade. Midnite counts only kills against the enemy team, so a team kill does not count. Betway counts knife, Molotov and HE grenade kills, bomb plants and a player's kill totals only while the round is live.
Kills total, kills handicap, most kills and first to X kills are graded on the in-game scoreboard at Midnite. First blood follows the in-game announcement.
Tournament winner: you back a team to win an event. If a tournament is not completed, Betway voids outright bets. At Betway, a team that plays at least one map counts as an entrant, and is settled as a loser if it later fails to complete. At Midnite, if a team withdraws before the tournament begins, outright bets on it are refunded. A postponement of more than 30 days voids Midnite outrights, and shorter postponements leave them standing.
Counter-Strike 2 is the free upgrade to CS:GO, so a bookmaker may show either name on the same fixtures. It is the same sport and the same teams. Check which name a market uses when you read its settlement wording. Our walk-through, How to bet on Counter-Strike 2, covers the steps.
Betway Limited holds Gambling Commission account number 39372. Its CS2 lobby runs from PGL Masters Bucharest to the CCT South America series. The welcome offer needs a qualifying stake of £10 on a pre-event bet. Esports is tagged in-play, and Cash Out shows on eligible single, multiple and system bets, before an event and in play. Betway sets a maximum payout of £100,000 for esports. The Betway review for UK players covers the rest.
Platinum Gaming Limited holds Gambling Commission licence number 45322. Its CS2 lobby takes in ST Ranked, United21 and the CCT European Series. The welcome offer needs a qualifying stake of £20. The sportsbook offers cash out, a bet builder, live streaming and in-play betting. For more on this bookmaker, see the Unibet review for UK players.
WHG (International) Limited holds Gambling Commission account number 39225. Its CS2 lobby covers PGL Bucharest, Stake Ranked and the CCT Europe Challengers. The welcome offer needs a first deposit of £10 or more and a qualifying stake of £10. Cash Out is part of the sportsbook, though it may not be available while a market is suspended. The maximum payout for esports is £25,000 on tournament outright and match winner markets and £10,000 on all other markets. The William Hill review for UK players has the full breakdown.
Midnite Limited holds Gambling Commission licence number 101839. It sets Counter-Strike settlement for team kills, round handicaps, pistol rounds and race-to markets, and it offers a bet builder. The welcome offer needs a qualifying stake of £10, and the maximum payout for esports is £25,000. Midnite's full profile is in the Midnite review for UK players.
Betway offers map winner, next map and round winner live, plus first blood or next kill in shooters. The stream usually runs a few seconds behind the bookmaker's live data, so a market can move or suspend before the play reaches your screen. Scores and timing on screen are for display only, and Betway can void a bet placed after the outcome was known.
William Hill puts every in-play bet through an automated time delay before acceptance. A marginal price change is accepted at the larger price, and a bigger one sends the bet back to the slip at the new price. A market can be suspended when something significant happens. Live information there is a guide, not a basis for settlement.
Midnite's in-play data is subject to a delay. If a match starts early, a bet placed after the actual start on a market not offered in play is void. Unibet tags matches already under way as Live in its esports lobby.
Betway voids a postponed or unplayed match that does not start within 3 hours of the original start time, or within 48 hours at a LAN event. A match that starts but is not completed is void, unless a team is disqualified, in which case the team progressing is the winner. Totals on a map that is not completed are void, and so are correct score bets on an unfinished match. Counter-Strike bets are settled on regulation time plus overtime.
Midnite voids all bets on a match cancelled before it starts. A match postponed for more than 48 hours is void, and within 48 hours bets stand. If a started match is abandoned, markets that reached their natural conclusion are settled and the rest are void. After a technical replay, the replayed result stands. A team that changes more than two players counts as a different team and bets are void, unless the change was public before the match was priced. Midnite also voids all bets on a series when 3 or more stand-ins play for one team.
William Hill voids abandoned or postponed events unless a sport's own section says otherwise. Markets already resolved at the time of abandonment stand.
Betway sets minimum odds of 2.0 on the £10 pre-event qualifying bet, and the £40 arrives as four £10 free bet tokens on settlement. Midnite sets minimum odds of 1/1 (2.0) on a £10 single placed within 14 days of sign-up. Its £30 is one £10 free bet, three £5 pre-match Bet Builder free bets (minimum odds of 3/1 (4.0), three selections) and one £5 pre-match accumulator free bet (minimum odds of 4/1 (5.0), four or more selections). William Hill sets minimum odds of 1/2 or longer on a £10 single, paid as three £10 free bets after settlement. Unibet's New Sports Welcome Offer asks for a stake of £20 or more, and its free bets are for sports.
The free bet expiry is 7 days at Betway, Midnite and William Hill, and Unibet's free bets expire within 7 days of issue.
Midnite's free stake is not returned with winnings, and cashed-out, voided and each-way bets do not qualify. William Hill excludes deposits by PayPal, Neosurf, Paysafe, Apple Pay, NETELLER, Skrill, ecoPayz, Kalibra/Postpay and WH PLUS Card.
Midnite's offer applies to eligible Sportsbook markets, with Virtual Sports excluded. William Hill's covers any sports market, with Virtuals excluded. No welcome offer here names esports among its eligible markets, so confirm that a CS2 bet counts before you stake. More offers are on our Esports betting offers page.
Betway has the highest rating at 4.2 out of 5, the widest named run of CS2 bet types and an esports maximum payout of £100,000, against £25,000 at Midnite and on William Hill's outright and match winner markets.
Unibet, rated 3.9, offers cash out, a bet builder and live streaming alongside its CS2 lobby, and its welcome offer asks for the highest qualifying stake of the four, £20. William Hill, rated 3.8, asks for odds of 1/2 or longer on its welcome offer, against 2.0 at Betway and 1/1 (2.0) at Midnite, and its sportsbook has cash out. Midnite, rated 3.1, is the lowest rated of the four. Its £30 welcome offer is split across single, Bet Builder and accumulator free bets, and it offers a bet builder.
Set a deposit limit, a loss limit and a time limit before a series starts. Esports matches run at every hour and in-play prices move quickly, so decide the budget for a match before it begins. A free bet, a price boost or a big final is never a reason to raise a limit or chase a loss.
The bookmakers on this page state these tools. Betway offers deposit limits, session reminders, Take a Break and self-exclusion. Unibet offers deposit limits, product blocks and self-exclusion. William Hill offers deposit limits, time-outs and self-exclusion. Midnite offers deposit and loss limits, Cool Off and self-exclusion.
Gamstop blocks every site licensed in Great Britain at once. The National Gambling Helpline is 0808 8020 133 (England and Scotland), and the NHS Wales Helpline is 0808 2819 265 (Wales). GambleAware also offers help. You must be 18 or over to bet.
Mostly. The market families carry over: match winner, map winner, handicaps and round totals. Settlement wording can differ between bookmakers, so read it for the exact market you are backing.
Three of our four rated bookmakers show CS2 fixtures: Betway, Unibet and William Hill. Fixture lists change daily, so open the esports lobby before you rely on a competition being offered.
A Major is a Valve-sponsored championship at the top of the CS2 calendar. Valve treats the players on a team, not the organisation, as holding its qualification spot, so a roster that breaks up can lose its place.
It is a wager on one round only: the opening round of the first or second half. Betway and Midnite both use the term.
Yes. All three bookmakers with CS2 lobbies show matches that have already started, and a market can suspend at any moment. Keep to the budget you set before the match, not one made during it.
The market adds or removes maps from a team's tally before the series is judged. Betway and Unibet both list map handicaps.
The Majors belong to Valve. PGL stages its own events through the year, including the 2026 Major in Singapore, and ESL sanctions the Intel Extreme Masters, which Savvy Games Group owns. Online series such as CCT, DraculaN and NODWIN Clutch Series fill the gaps.
It depends on the bookmaker and on whether the map had started. At Midnite, if a team forfeits before a map starts, bets on that map are refunded. Once a map is under way, Midnite grades round handicaps on the round score at the moment of the forfeit, and voids a handicap whose result was not yet certain. Our team rechecks these settlement terms whenever a bookmaker changes them.
When a bookmaker changes a term, a market or a figure, our team reads its site again and corrects this page. Corrections can be sent to info@esportsbookies.co.uk. How we check facts is explained in How we rate.
