These are the sports welcome offers at the four bookmakers we have rated, and each of them holds a Gambling Commission licence. All four are for new customers and all four are general sports offers, so what matters for an esports bet is whether the free bets can go on esports and at what minimum odds. The cards show each offer and its rating. Our team tests and checks every figure here before it is published.

Each offer in detail

Betway

Betway pays £40 in free bets for a £10 bet at minimum odds of 2.0. New customers choose one of two Betway welcome offers: this one, or the Sports Acca offer, which gives a matched free bet of up to £30 if the first acca loses plus a £30 Uber Eats voucher. The free bets expire after 7 days. Our Betway review for UK players rates it 4.2 out of 5.

Unibet

Unibet's New Sports Welcome Offer gives £40 in free bets for a bet of £20 or more. The free bets expire within 7 days of issue. Our Unibet review for UK players rates it 3.9 out of 5.

William Hill

William Hill gives £30 in free bets, three of £10. The route in is a first deposit of £10 or more, then a £10 single bet at odds of 1/2 or longer, and the free bets arrive after that bet settles. Each £10 free bet must be used in full and expires in 7 days. Deposits made with PayPal, Neosurf, Paysafe, Apple Pay, NETELLER, Skrill, ecoPayz, Kalibra/Postpay or the WH PLUS Card are excluded from the offer. Our William Hill review for UK players rates it 3.8 out of 5.

Midnite

Midnite gives £30 in free bets for a £10 sportsbook bet at minimum odds of 1/1 (2.0), placed within 14 days of sign-up after a deposit of at least £10. The £30 is split across five free bets:

  • one £10 single free bet at minimum odds of 1/1 (2.0);
  • three £5 pre-match Bet Builder free bets, each with at least 3 selections at minimum odds of 3/1 (4.0);
  • one £5 pre-match accumulator free bet with 4+ selections at minimum odds of 4/1 (5.0).

Voided bets, cashed-out bets and bets placed with free bets or another promotion do not qualify. The free bets cannot be combined with another promotion and cannot be used on Each Way bets. Our Midnite review for UK players rates it 3.1 out of 5.

Can you use them on esports

William Hill accepts the qualifying bet and the free bets on any sports market except Virtuals. Its esports betting covers League of Legends, Counter-Strike, Dota 2, Valorant, StarCraft 2 and King of Glory.

At Midnite, only bets on eligible Sportsbook markets qualify, and Virtual Sports are excluded.

Betway's qualifying bet must be a pre-event bet, so an in-play esports bet does not start the offer. Betway lists CS2, League of Legends, Dota 2, VALORANT, Rainbow Six, Arena of Valor, CS2 Duels, CrossFire, Honor Of Kings, Mobile Legends and Overwatch 2 in its esports betting, with in-play markets.

Unibet's New Sports Welcome Offer applies to sports.

For what the bet types mean, see Esports betting markets explained.

Other esports promotions

William Hill is the only one of the four whose promotions name esports. It runs Price Boost on certain esports markets, and #YourOdds: if the esports market you want is not listed, you ask for it with that tag and William Hill prices up the bet.

Midnite runs three weekly clubs: Bet Club with up to £20 in free bets this week, Acca Club with a £10 free bet, and Bet Builder Club with a £5 free bet for a £10 Bet Builder. Each club needs an opt-in, has its own T&Cs and applies odds restrictions, and the free bets are credited when qualifying bets settle and are valid for 7 days.

Betway has a Betway Boosts section in its sports menu, and Unibet runs Uniboosts every day.

Terms to read before you opt in

Check these figures before you press opt in:

  • Qualifying stake: £10 at Betway, William Hill and Midnite, £20 at Unibet. William Hill and Midnite also ask for a first deposit of £10 or more.
  • Minimum odds: 2.0 at Betway, 1/2+ at William Hill and 1/1 (2.0) at Midnite. A shorter price does not count towards the offer.
  • Free bet expiry: 7 days at Betway, William Hill and Midnite, and within 7 days of issue at Unibet. A free bet left unused when time runs out is lost.
  • Stake returned: Midnite's free bet stake is not returned with winnings, so a winning free bet pays the winnings only.
  • Excluded payment methods: William Hill excludes several deposit methods, so decide how you fund the account before you deposit.

No offer is a reason to bet more. The qualifying stake is the least you must bet, so set your budget before you opt in and keep to it.

Comparing the offers

The lowest qualifying stake is £10, at Betway, William Hill and Midnite, while Unibet asks £20. Set against that stake, Betway gives £4 in free bets for each £1, William Hill and Midnite £3, and Unibet £2.

No offer gives longer than another to use the free bets: all four expire in 7 days.

Betway and Midnite ask for the highest minimum odds on the qualifying bet, 2.0 in decimal, which Midnite shows as 1/1. William Hill asks for 1/2 or longer. Midnite's Bet Builder and accumulator free bets carry minimum odds of their own, 3/1 (4.0) and 4/1 (5.0).

The shape of the free bets differs too. William Hill's three free bets are all £10, while Midnite's £30 comes as five free bets of £10, £5, £5, £5 and £5, each tied to a bet type.

Maximum payouts on esports

The maximum payout is the most a bookmaker pays out on winning bets. At William Hill, esports bets are capped at £25,000 in winnings for tournament outrights and match winner markets, and £10,000 for all other markets. The cap excludes the stake, applies to one customer's betting across a day and holds across every betting channel. Where selections from different categories are combined in a multiple, the lowest limit applies. These limits took effect on 20 December 2025.

Midnite's maximum payout for esports is £25,000, and its limit across any bet or combination of bets by one person is £250,000 per calendar day.

Bet within your limits

Set a deposit limit, a loss limit and a time limit before a series starts. Esports matches run at every hour and in-play prices move quickly, so decide the budget for a match before it begins. The bookmakers here offer tools: Betway has deposit limits, session reminders, Take a Break and self-exclusion; William Hill has deposit limits, time-outs, session time reminders and product blocking; Unibet has deposit limits, net deposit limits, product blocks and self-exclusion; Midnite has deposit and loss limits, Cool Off and self-exclusion. A free bet, a price boost or a big final is never a reason to raise a limit or chase a loss. Gamstop blocks every site licensed in Great Britain at once. Questions

Are there esports no deposit offers?

None of the four welcome offers pays free bets before you have placed a qualifying bet with your own money. William Hill and Midnite also make their free bets non-withdrawable.

What is a qualifying stake?

It is the bet you place yourself to start the offer. At William Hill it must be a single placed from main balance.

What does minimum odds mean?

It is the shortest price the qualifying bet may carry for the offer to count. Betway prices UK esports markets in fractions, so a decimal minimum such as its 2.0 needs converting before you compare it.

Are there esports bonus codes?

Codes exist for the sports welcome offers at William Hill and Midnite, not for any esports-only deal. Both are entered when you register.

Can I open a second account to claim a welcome offer again?

No: Midnite, Betway and William Hill each allow a single account, and Unibet allows one per brand. Midnite also requires that you have not previously had an account with it or its corporate group restricted or closed for any reason.

Do I need to be 18, and will I be asked for documents?

Yes, you must be 18 or over to open an account and to take part in promotions. Verification checks at all four bookmakers can ask for documents such as a passport, a driving licence or proof of address.

Who do I complain to if my free bets are not credited?

Start with the bookmaker's own complaints process. If that does not settle it, Betway, Midnite and William Hill point to the Independent Betting Adjudication Service (IBAS) for sports disputes, and Unibet to eCogra. Betway and Midnite ask for a complaint within 6 months of the incident.

If you think we are wrong

When a bookmaker changes a term, a market or a figure, our team reads the bookmaker's current pages again and corrects this page. To tell us about an out-of-date offer, write to info@esportsbookies.co.uk. The checks behind each fact are part of how we rate every bookmaker.
