Betway review for UK players

Betway offers esports betting on League of Legends, Counter-Strike 2, Dota 2 and VALORANT. Rainbow Six, Arena of Valor, CS2 Duels, CrossFire, Honor of Kings, Mobile Legends and Overwatch 2 sit beside them, which makes eleven titles in all.

Outside the four games this site covers, fixtures include the KPL for Honor of Kings, the MPL Philippines for Mobile Legends and the Berserk League for CS2 Duels.

The common esports bet types are match winner, map winner, tournament winner and correct score. Match winner is the result of the whole match, map winner is one map within it, tournament winner is the outright result of an event, and correct score is the exact map scoreline, such as 2-0 or 2-1 in a best-of-three. Totals, to-win-a-map, match betting and outright betting all have settlement rules, with each-way terms on outrights. Markets run from outright tournament winners down to individual maps.

Some settlement rules apply across games. Bets settle on the official result supplied by the tournament officials. If a line-up changes after the markets close, bets stand, and the same applies when a stand-in replaces a player who has connection errors. Betway can void all bets on a game if performance is hindered, for example by a server change. A match not played within 3 hours of its original start time is void, and the window is 48 hours for LAN events. Outright bets are void if a tournament is not completed. A match that starts but is not completed voids match betting, unless a team is disqualified, in which case the team progressing wins. A team that taps out settles as a loss. In League of Legends, Dota 2 and VALORANT, a tied map voids the win/win market. In Counter-Strike 2 and VALORANT, bets settle on regulation time including overtime unless stated otherwise.

League of Legends

League of Legends has a World Championship listing at Betway, and Betway covers MSI. Bets on first blood, kills, towers, inhibitors, dragons and barons have their own settlement rules. First blood is the first kill on the map. Towers and inhibitors count for the opposing team even when a minion lands the last hit, and each of the six inhibitors counts once in a bet on the number destroyed. Kill bets follow the official broadcast or game API, so a champion killed by tower or minion damage alone may not count. After a surrender bets stand, with dragon, baron and kill bets settled on the position at that moment.

Counter-Strike 2

Counter-Strike 2 is Valve's free upgrade to CS:GO. Betway's competitions for it include CCT South America, DraculaN, the NODWIN Clutch Series, PGL Bucharest Qualifier and PGL Masters Bucharest. Markets include match winner, map winner, map handicaps, correct map score, total rounds over or under, and pistol-round markets for the opening round of each half. The CS2 Majors, Intel Extreme Masters and PGL events carry the widest range of markets at Betway, while smaller online qualifiers carry a tighter set. Knife, Molotov and HE grenade kills count only when made by the opposing team during the round, and a bomb plant counts only when it happens during the round.

Dota 2

Betway lists Dota 2 with fixtures from the EPL Masters, and it covers The International. Time-based bets use the in-game clock, which does not include the period before creeps spawn. First Blood counts only when the broadcast or official API registers the kill as First Blood, so a kill denied by a team-mate may not qualify. Other kill markets follow the kill counter. The team that lands the last hit on Roshan has slain it, whoever picks up the aegis. Each team has six barracks, with the ranged and melee barracks in each pair counted separately.

VALORANT

Betway lists VALORANT and covers the VALORANT Champions Tour. If the spike explosion kills the last players of the opposing team, the round counts as an elimination, not a spike explosion. A spike plant bet stands only if each team has at least one player alive at the planting, and a plant after the round is complete does not count. Kills by spike explosion do not count towards a player's kills.

Betway's sports welcome offer is Bet £10, get £40 in free bets, for new customers only. The qualifying stake is £10, placed on a pre-event bet at minimum odds of 2.0 or longer. A pre-event bet is one placed before the match starts. Odds of 2.0 are 1/1 in fractions, also called evens.

The £40 is awarded as Free Bet Tokens when the qualifying bet settles, in four £10 free bets. Free bet expiry is 7 days.

A new customer picks one welcome offer. The choices are the free-bet package above and Betway Sports Acca + Uber Voucher: a matched free bet of up to £30 if the first accumulator loses, plus a £30 Uber Eats voucher. An accumulator combines several selections in one bet. Betway sets separate terms for each offer, and the choices were last updated on 18 March 2026. Cash out

Cash out is a real-time settlement tool. Where the Cash Out button appears against an unsettled bet in My Bets, you can take the current cash out amount before the event ends. It is available on a range of sports and markets, on single, multiple and system bets, before a match and in play. It does not apply to bets that include each-way selections. Pressing the button settles the bet at once and cannot be reversed. Betway can decline a cash out if the amount was displayed incorrectly, reflects a palpable error, or was requested after the outcome was known. It does not guarantee the feature at all times. Partial cash out takes a share of the offer and leaves the rest of the stake running.

Live streaming

Live video is open to Betway account holders, and some CS2 Duels matches carry it. Betway warns that the stream runs behind the event, typically by 2 to 5 seconds and sometimes by much longer, and that relying on it to place a bet is at your own risk.

In-play betting

Betway takes in-play bets on esports. Live markets commonly include map winner, next map and round winner, with first blood or next kill in shooters. Scores, timing and similar information on screen are for display only and are not used to settle a bet.

Maximum payouts

The maximum payout for esports is £100,000. Across all sports, the most a customer can win in a day is £500,000, with a day running from 00:00 to 23:59 GMT. A multiple bet that mixes events with different limits takes the lowest limit. Bets placed on different days take the limit of the day on which the final event on the bet concludes. Limits are set in pounds and converted on the date of settlement. Bets can be placed that exceed these limits, so check the limit before you stake.

Betway accepts Visa, Visa Electron, Mastercard, PayPal and Trustly. A withdrawal is processed in up to 24 hours, though this may vary at weekends. Withdrawal limits start with a minimum withdrawal of £5. When an account holds less than that, Betway still pays out the balance and charges a £1 withdrawal fee.

Betway Sports is available from the App Store and the Play Store. Live video streams play in Safari on iOS without a third-party app.

Betway handles support by e-mail and by writing to its Customer Service centre. A fault in the service is reported through the same two routes.

You must be 18 or over, and the site accepts customers who live in or are located in the United Kingdom. Betway tries to verify your details automatically at registration. If that fails, it asks for valid identification that proves your identity, age and address: a photographic ID such as a passport or driver's licence, a recent utility bill confirming where you live, or a recent debit card or bank statement. It can also ask for photo ID, proof of address and source of funds, including your occupation. In certain cases it runs an affordability check through the credit reference agency TransUnion, which leaves a search footprint but does not affect your credit score.

You may register and operate only one account. An inactive account is charged an administration fee of £5 a month until it is no longer in credit or becomes active again.

Complaints start with Customer Support. A formal complaint must be made within 6 months of the issue, by e-mail or to the physical address in the complaints process. Betway makes best efforts to resolve it within one month and can extend that for good reason. If you and Betway have not agreed within eight weeks, you can refer the matter free of charge to an alternative dispute resolution (ADR) body: IBAS for sports complaints, eCOGRA for casino complaints.

Betway has the highest rating of the four and returns the most free bets for a £10 outlay. Unibet matches the £40 but asks for a £20 bet, while Midnite and William Hill return £30. Support is where Betway trails: the other three list live chat. Unibet lists the longest set of betting features. On esports, Betway lists eleven titles with a £100,000 maximum payout, and Midnite lists esports as a market with a £25,000 maximum payout.

Set limits on deposits, losses and time before a series starts, wherever the bookmaker offers them.
